台裔後衛林書豪過去曾效力休士頓火箭兩個球季，當時的總教練Kevin McHale雖然已經卸下兵符，14日他表示「哈佛小子」到了布魯克林籃網，還是像以前一樣拚命。

「他真的很努力，他會犯一些錯誤，但他會努力彌補。」McHale說：「你永遠不需要鼓勵他做什麼事，你可能只需要叫他慢一點，因為他真的非常積極。」

林書豪2012年加盟火箭，頭一年82場全勤先發，平均上場超過32分鐘，攻下13.4分、6.1助攻，但跟超級砍將James Harden搭配可不是件容易的事，隔年先發、替補兩頭跑，2014年夏天就離隊。

「他在休士頓的時候就是這麼積極，我想他在籃網也是一樣。」McHale說：「他從不畏懼關鍵出手，一秒都沒在怕。」

McHale表示，林書豪跟魯莽其實只有一線之隔，但這樣的態度正是他成為優秀球員的原因，「他已經成為比當初更好的球員了，但他還是一樣努力，他現在是林書豪，不是林來瘋。」
